Luisa Palloni, LICSW, DBSM

Welcome! I am a licensed clinical social worker and board-certified in behavioral sleep medicine, specializing in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I work with clients to build personalized treatment plans with concrete steps toward lasting, meaningful change. Having navigated insomnia and CBT-I myself, I bring both professional expertise and lived experience to every session.

I am a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Society of Behavioral Sleep Medicine (SBSM).

You can verify my licensure with the DC Board of Social Work here, and with the Virginia Board of Social Work here.

More about me

I’ve been a social worker in DC since 2011, after graduating with my MSW from the University of Michigan. (Go Blue!) The first 7 years of my career were focused on early childhood mental health in schools, where I worked with parents, teachers, and school administrators to develop interventions and support for student social, emotional and behavioral health. For the past 4 years, I’ve worked as a coordinator and assistant program manager at a local non-profit that addresses population-wide stress and trauma by providing training and support in evidence-based small group techniques.

As a former insomniac with a strong interest and experience in science-backed behavioral interventions and a love of working with people, diving into the world of sleep medicine has been a natural transition.

I am also a parent of two energetic kids, a runner, dancer, baker, and sleep enthusiast!
